The liner tape of real cotton twill is ironed on as protection for the edge of the trouser hem.
Turn trouser leg inside out and place on a hard, smooth surface. Place lining tape with the slippery (and slightly shiny) side downwards on the leg. In the case of cotton or linen, set the iron to level 3 and iron on for about 45–60 seconds with firm pressure. For delicate fabrics set the iron to the permissible maximum temperature and iron on for about 45–60 seconds. Place a thin cloth or ironing net on top for protection. Leave the article of clothing to cool off for a few minutes, turn inside out and iron on the wrong side for about 25–30 seconds, applying pressure. Then leave the article of clothing in place to cool off. If necessary repeat the ironing process. Only dry-iron – without a damp cloth – without steam
